5 days into parenthood! A brief update…

Well, we have made it to day 5 of parenthood…so far no one has been injured.

WHO NEEDS SLEEP?
Nash, Ines and I are all doing well…minus a little prime time sleep (meaning between 12am-7am). We have had two mornings in a row of AWESOME sleep between 7am-10am. What a blessing those 3-hour stretches of uninterrupted sleep are to us!

PRAYER REQUEST:
The being awake continually throughout the night has been rough on Ines so please pray for her and Nash as they get into a routine. We are going to get pump connections this week so that I can help out with nighttime feedings. In the meantime, I’ve tried to be encouraging by staying awake with them, assisting where I can, and helping change diapers (haven’t graduated to solo on this yet).

THANKS:
So many people have written, called, and visited to express their excitement for Nash’s arrival. Ines and I are truly grateful for each and everyone of you. We send a special shout out to Rachel Pinto for organizing meals for us starting on Wednesday. Thanks to Stacey McBryde, Barbara McBryde, and Dana Velasquez for all the meals you’ve provided us this weekend! You can imagine what a relief it is to not have to think about cooking!

LAUGHING:
Besides some lost sleep, we’ve enjoyed LOTS of laughter!  Last night we had just finished giving him a sponge bath and putting on a fresh diaper when we heard a LOUD noise from his special delivery place. It was so funky, but we just laughed until our bellies hurt. Another time we had just finished changing his diaper when he shot a jet stream of pee up in the air and over his left shoulder spraying the crib and a bit of the bedroom wall. We were both so surprised by it that we just froze for a bit. Then we through a wipey over him and laughed hysterically.

PRAISE:
I PRAISE the Lord for our new son Nash! He is a wonderful gift from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth. Every good and perfect gift comes from above, and my wife and I recognize that our healthy baby boy is a miracle from Him. Please join us in celebrating this new life and addition to our family.
