Implications of the Social Media Revolution
Written by Rob McBryde

I recently attended the Integrating Media half-day conference and heard from Brant Collins (CEO of Station X), Natalie Ghidotti (Principal of Ghidotti Communications), and Paul Strack (President of CustomXM) on "old-school strategies using new-school tools." Nearly 50 people from various businesses attended, and the event was a total success from my perspective.

Below is one of the videos that was shown. The description poses the questions, "Is social media a fad? Or is it the biggest shift since the Industrial Revolution?" Take a look and consider the implications...for your life in general and for your business or organization.

How can you use this exponentially growing phenomenon...

  • to build upon existing relationships?
  • to start new relationships?
  • to improve your business?
  • to help someone in need?
  • to spread an important message?

My friend Rudy Carrasco just sent this out in his e-mail newsletter. Since diversity is something that is important to me and the church I attend (Fellowship North), I thought I'd share this interview with Rudy and DJ Chuang on the subject of developing minority leadership.

Rudy writes in his e-mail...

The other day I did a video discussion with DJ Chuang of the L2 Foundation & Leadership Network. Our topic was "Leading with Color: How to Raise Up Minority Leaders."

Adding video producer to my resume

I was recently blessed by my parent’s with an early birthday present…the Creative Vado HD pocket video camcorder. This is timely since the birth of my son Robert NASH McBryde is right around the corner, and we want to capture those special moments in his life as a baby, toddler, adolescent, etc. etc.

But not only will the Vado be useful for family memories, it has already been helpful for my website design biz. The video below is of my dear friend Amos Gray welcoming visitors to his new website (www.amosspeaks.com) designed by yours truly.

We shot several videos yesterday morning at Robinson High School and in front of First Baptist Church Pankey where Amos went to church as a kid. The Lord opened up several spontaneous opportunities to film people sharing testimonies about Amos and his ability to speak into the lives of students and help teachers reach hard-to-reach students.

Check out the video below and be sure to visit www.amosspeaks.com to see the rest of the videos.
