A good T-shirt isn’t just something to wear—it can start a conversation, make someone smile, or even become a statement. This year, I played around with some new ideas and techniques and created eight designs that I’m excited about. Whether you’re into music, empowering women, or epic sci-fi adventures, there’s a little something here for everyone.
1. Beastie Boys Lyrics
These designs were born from years of listening to my favorite band of all time, the Beastie Boys. Drawing upon some memorable lyrics from my formative years, fans of the rap trio will instantly recognize these phrases printed across your chest.
2. Scribbled Music Lyrics
Continuing the theme of music-inspired designs, these two designs come from two of my favorite songs to sing every Wednesday at karaoke night: I Will Survive and The Best Deception.
They also represent a different approach to design than my previous work using an Apple Pencil and iPad.
3. Empowered Women
Inspired by my incredible wife, who’s a fierce advocate for women’s rights, this design is a bold statement about the strength and resilience of women everywhere. It features a powerful reminder that racism and sexism are systems that won’t dismantle themselves—they need to be interrupted by our voices and our actions. This shirt is for those who are ready to stand up, speak out, and make a change.
The designs take a bolder leap in color usage when you consider the artist (me) is colorblind. Shout out to Canva templates with color-matched palettes to keep me reined in!
4. Bobiverse SciFi Nerdery
I recently became hooked on The Bobiverse, a sci-fi series that’s as mind-bending as it is entertaining. If you haven’t read it, do yourself a favor and dive in. This design is a tribute to all the books in the series, including the newest one, which releases this month.
