On September 1, 2004, some friends of mine helped me pull off a very special evening with the love of my life Inés Velásquez-McBryde. Before I popped the question, I had Inés open a gift which was two emails between her dad and me that I had framed. In the email to her dad who lived in South Carolina at that time, I asked for his permission to marry his daughter. This email exchange is hanging in our living room today.
